James Duncan has composed, played and produced music as well as designed sound for television commercials, web campaigns and soundtracks.

As a freelance composer, he has worked for one of the largest specialists in music and sound design for commercials in New Zealand, the multi-award winning Liquid Studios, as well as for boutique film production firms like Automatic Films and boutique advertising agencies such as Running With Scissors. As a freelancer, James worked making music for some of the biggest businesses in the country, including Telecom, Monteith's breweries and Farmer's department stores.

James is also a well known musician in his own right: He produces music under his own name for the Round Trip Mars label and until recently, he regularly played guitar in award winning New Zealand bands Dimmer, SJD and Punches. James is currently located in Berlin.
